Alexis
Capstone Intern
Hello, my name is Alexis and I am a graduate student from Belmont University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. I am originally from Cookeville, TN but I love calling Nashville my home now. When I’m not studying or working, I love to quilt, read, and go on walks with my puppy and husband. Occupational therapy aims to help people of all ages and backgrounds achieve maximum independence in daily activities such as bathing, dressing, cooking, etc. I chose OT because I want to help equip someone with the tools to achieve their goals and live their life to their fullest potential. As for my time here at Westminster Home Connection, I am able to come alongside and support the team as they provide crucial home repairs and modifications. I hope to be able to provide new insights from an OT’s perspective while the team helps older adults age safely in their homes, therefore, increasing their independence in performing daily activities through helping meet environmental needs.
